Hemorrhoids (feminine noun), the first meaning, the veins are present in the mucous membranes of the anus and lower rectum.
In common usage, refers mainly hemorrhoids varicose dilation and inflammation of the veins, then called hemorrhoidal veins.
About one in two adult aged 50 is suffering from hemorrhoids. Constipation, pregnancy and loss of tonus of the tissues with age are the main causes.
The symptoms are occasional and easily identifiable itching around the anus, discomfort in sitting and bleeding when going to the bathroom.
It is normal for the veins of the anal region swell slightly during defecation. But unlike normal veins, hemorrhoids remain permanently dilated.
Attention. It is recommended to consult a doctor immediately in case of anal bleeding, even if it is just intense. This symptom may indicate a health problem more serious.
Evolution
It classifies haemorrhoids according to their stage of evolution.
* First degree. The hemorrhoid is inside the anus.
* Second degree. The fate of hemorrhoid anus during defecation, and returns to normal position to stop the effort.
* Third degree. The hemorrhoid has to be seen gently with fingers after defecation.
* Fourth degree. The hemorrhoid can not be seen inside the anus.
Hemorrhoids may progress from one level to another if nothing is done to curb the trend. In pregnant women, symptoms of hemorrhoids usually disappear after childbirth.
Complications
When the discomfort or slight pain turns into pain, it is usually a sign that a blood clot formed in a hemorrhoid. This is a hemorrhoidal thrombosis. Better to consult a doctor immediately. The symptoms usually disappear within a week or two, using pain killers and laxatives emollients that soften the stool.
In rare cases, infection can occur, or a significant loss of blood causing anemia.
