Decalogue for protection from the flu

While the numbers of infections appear to stabilize different countries, the Ministry of Health has launched a campaign to prevent infection with influenza A, the best measure to address the pandemic. These are the 10 key recommendations to prevent A/H1N1 virus.

1. Avoid contact with people whom they have been diagnosed with the disease.

2. Wash hands frequently. The influenza virus is transmitted through droplets of saliva and nasal secretions through coughing or sneezing. Wash hands for at least a minute to completely eliminate the pathogen.

3. Cover mouth and nose with a tissue when sneezing or coughing and then just throw the used tissue in the trash.

4. Clean more frequently surfaces of furniture, door knobs and other objects which may have become contaminated secretions.

5. Ventilate often stays. Thereby preventing the accumulation of particulate matter containing the virus.

6. If you are sick to avoid infecting other people following the advice of health professionals. An infected person can transmit the virus from one days before the onset of symptoms until a week later.



7. Avoid kissing and close contact and sharing cups, cutlery and other objects that may have been in contact with saliva or secretions. Thus, reducing the risk of infection.

8. Lead a healthy life for addressing the disease in better health. Eating fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins A and C (carrot, papaya, guava, orange, tangerine, lime, lemon and pineapple), or avoid exercise habits such as alcohol and snuff will improve their defenses.

9. It is important to avoid congestion and emergency services. If flu symptoms appear, you must go to your doctor .

10. If you plan to become pregnant, there is no need to delay their plans but you should know that pregnant women are a risk group.
